Science is enhancing performance ---but injuries are on the rise...

Astonishing is it not? Sport has never had as much research as now! From blood transfusion, to oxygen delivery, to genetic engineering... It's all happening! But it might win you an Olympic gold, but death 3 years after as stated by the research bodies themselves. So it would be fair to say that sport is not necessarily fitness? 
Let's talk about lower level sport performance in the form of supplements we get over the counter,  pre workout , post workout, pills, powders.. The whole lot! How healthy are they? 
Well in my opinion, long term they are not, especially as most of them are synthetic. And if you thought protein powder was "natural" think again! The dehydration process is it self pushed through a host of chemicals... But yes there are a few natural ones there and they would be the safest . 
Moving onto kids/ adolescents foods and diets! What are they exposed to for performance? A coloured drink boasting of enhanced performance? Really? With the amount of sugar and colours they add the only thing that will be enhanced is the break down of ligament and tendon tensile strength. In my opinion that along with the enhanced breakfast cereals and foods are equally on my list of enhanced injury substances ..think about it.. If the foods our kids are eating and drinking, would be healthy, would we have the rates of obesity we have? 
The above thoughts are not to dissuade you from enjoying the unearthly sins, but just to make you aware, just like low fat ( high sugar) is really worse for you...so find the balance and enhance your life.. Remember inner health , mental and spiritual are important too...

Philosophy in religion is what Research is to science... it gives one hope...

Each time a research paper comes up with how a certain diet, food, way of exercise, thinking or living benefits a person, it gives one hope that by following that research one might get the results...remember the time when swinging your arms allows for more fat burning? 
Philosophy in a way is similar, most people use it when they are down in the dumps , and it gives them hope and a false sense of belief, especially when a project has turned on its head and the cop out is" well it must have happened for the best" ..  

Everything that happens happens as a result of a choice one has made, either consciously or unconsciously ... Once the heart and mind are in sync success is inevitable....

Yoga, air yoga, functional training, animal movement, mindfulness , guided meditation.... How about going back to the self? 

The answers to all movement and wellbeing lies within, one simply needs to understand what works for them, then put into practice what works for them... Each one is an individual ... Each one is unique, without finding an excuse .. Do what one must... 


The more I look within the more I discover myself....

Being alone and finding loneliness....

How often do we go on spiritual trips , and mis-interpret the meaning of being alone?How often do we shut ourselves from society and human contact in the hope that we are healing and finding our way on our 'journey?'Only to find when we come back to the real situation we find that we go back to our patterns?

Just like the monk who was meditating in the Himalayas for 5 years, after which he finally came down to crowded Mumbai, India., and found that the chaos, pollution,poverty was too much for him to handle , and as he was making plans to leave he found this man having a nap on the footpath and seemed very relaxed, so he went and sat by this man. When the man woke he asked him...how do you manage?what methods do you use? the man looked at him and said 'this is my peace, I find this activity around me like the insides of my body..there is movement everywhere so much energy and so relaxing....'  (and no it seems he was not on drugs after extensive research by the scientific community)

So what is this alone time? what is this perfect state we are looking for? where is the Ferrari and will that bring the satisfaction we so please in our maya ?

Why not just try living in the now ? Appreciate what is and experience it in its fullest?
would being alone just mean needing the space to find ones own inner self?ones true self? Which then brings us in sync with what our minds and hearts want? I leave that for you to ponder and find your own way,

but I think in my perception that finding oneself is a process, and its ever evolving and changing and hence it is not something you find on the top of a mountain in 10 days , and carry that with you forever, rather its willing to go deep into your 'minds' and heart and hearing those answers or call to actions on a daily basis.
It does not need to be for hours or minutes , rather moments or a  moment.

So taking a moment  for oneself everyday , understanding your intentions, manifesting your intentions everyday and taking action to make it happen....wake with the sun , sleep with the sun.....eat well, move well and sleep well...
